Hi, I’m Theresa.
I started There IS A Smile Studio in 2020 as a graphic and web design studio. In 2025, I picked up a camera professionally, and it quickly became my favorite part of the work.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in education and graphic web design, and I put both to work as a freelance designer, photographer, and children’s art teacher. In the past year I’ve photographed school events, charity fundraisers, and galas.
Event photography is where I do my best work. It’s fast, unpredictable, and full of real moments: the laugh, the hug, the dance floor, the surprise. I love capturing the moments that make people smile, and that’s why I’m focused on events.
